Prof.Dr. Mehmet Demiryürek has been appointed to the deanship of Arts and Science Faculty of our university in the 11th meeting of 2015 of Higher Education General Assembly held in July 14, 2015.
We congratulate Prof.Dr. Mehmet Demiryürek and wish him a continued success.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Demiryürek was born in April 20, 1971 in Kozan. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). He graduated from the department of History Teaching of Buca Education Faculty of Dokuz Eylul University in 1990. He completed his master (1992) and doctorate (1999) degree in the Institute of Ataturk’s Principles and History of Turkish Revolution of Dokuz Eylul University.
He became Assistant Professor Doctor in 2000 and Associate Professor Doctor in 2006 in Lefke European University (TRNC). In 2012, he was appointed to the department of History in Arts and Science Faculty of Hitit University first as a Assoc. Prof Dr. and then Professor.
His interests are Cyprus History, Social and Economic History of the Ottoman Empire, the Ottoman-European relations.
