After the approval in the meeting dated 13.01.2016 by Higher Education Executive Board of the proposal to Higher Education Council for opening “Nursing Master with Thesis” program within Institute of Health Sciences by Senate decision dated 19.11.2015 of our University carrying out studies for new master and doctorate programs, it has been decided now that the program may accept students.
Following the acceptance of students to the program by accomplishing all the necessary technical and substructure preparations, the power and variety of postgraduate education in our university will be improved. Having the Institute of Social Sciences, Institute of Science and Institute of Health Sciences, our University has accepted students for just the first two institutes so far. All three institutes will accept students from that day forward. Regarding the matter, our Rector Prof.Dr. Reha Metin Alkan said:
“There is an enormous development in the field of health in our country and common use of hospital has enabled newly-founded universities as ours to expand. Within this context, common use agreement was signed with Ministry of Health in 2012 and the number of teaching staff reached nearly 85 with a rapid development in the field; important successful operations were carried out in our city and the students of the field will receive education in our city in the following academic term.
In addition to these developments, much importance was given to the Institute of Health Sciences and it is ready for accepting students.
I believe that the cooperation of a powerful public institution and our Medical Faculty with internationally qualified academic staff will result in important expansions and make great contribution to create awareness of our city.
