Association for Women in Mathematics was founded to encourage and support women to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences, and to promote equal opportunity for and the equal treatment of women in the mathematical sciences. The center of the association is Hitit University. The first Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly was held in Çorum on 13 October 2012.
