Fulbright Scholar at Hitit University

 In line with the agreement between The Council of Higher Education in Turkey and Fulbright Education Commission,  Victoria Jennifer SUN has been appointed as an ETA - English Teaching Assistant for the academic year of 2012-2013. Miss Sun has just started to work at our university.

             Our university aims to support the English language learning and teaching at the university. At this point, Miss Sun will be teaching English not only the students but also the academic and administrative staff to develop their proficiency in English. In line with this, courses will be arranged within the body of Continuing Education Application and Research Center. These courses aim to improve the participants’ communication, conversation, presentation, and listening skills so that they can use the language fluently, accurately and effectively. Primarily including Listening and Speaking sessions, these courses will start at the end of September.

           The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.

                 The Program was established in 1946 under legislation introduced by late Senator J. William Fulbright of Arkansas and is sponsored by the United States Department of State'sBureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).

                 Approximately 318,000 "Fulbrighters," 120,000 from the United States and 198,000 from other countries, have participated in the Program since its inception over sixty years ago. The Fulbright Program awards approximately 8,000 new grants annually. Currently, the Fulbright Program operates in over 155 countries worldwide.
