The Activity titled “Awareness of the Disabled and Our Responsibilities” for faculty students was held in the Conference Hall of Divinity Faculty on December 25th, 2014 at 2.30pm. the activity was organized by Disabled Student Unit Coordinatorship in training units of our university within the context of “Able University Awareness Meetings”.
In the presentation made by Research Assistant Harun Alkan who is the Disabled Unit Representative in the Faculty of Divinity, some information about the ratio of the general population of people with disabilities living in Turkey, handicap types, the challenges they face in public places, expected behaviors from non-disabled people in society, the responsibilities of the administrative institutions and civil society organizations were given to the audiences. Several short films were also displayed in the presentation for raising attention about disabled awareness.
