Çorum Technocity which is implemented by guided project support, applied in our country by Middle Black Sea Development Agency(OKA) for the first time and in partnership with Çorum Organized Industrial Zone Directorate, Hitit University, Çorum Special Provincial Administration and Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has come to the stage of completion.
Our university Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan; Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO) Chairman Çetin Başaranhıncal; Çorum Organized Industrial Zone Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (ÇOSİAD) Chairman Bülent Karadayı and Vice-Directors Bülent Onur, Mustafa Yağlı; ÇOSİAD Board Members Zafer Kayılı, Muharrem Sarıaslan, Yurdagül Sivri, Ahmet Çenesiz, Süleyman Duduoğlu and Organized Industrial Zone Director Yaşar Şahin tours the Technocity building which will enter service in a short time after completed the final acceptance procedures and drew information out of Technocity Director Ass.Prof.İrfan Kurtbaş.
TSO Chairman Çetin Başaranhıncal says “The most important project on which TSO and Hitit University collaborate is Technocity Project. Technocity is a special area where scientists and industrialists come together. I believe that Technocity will take our province production structure to the top with academic perspective but this is of course possible with the industrialists to look out for Technocity. The more industrialists and businessmen take part in Technocity, the more scientfic works and Research and Developent(AR-GE) studies are carried out, the more useful and productive Technocity will be. Thus, companies should give importance to AR-GE studies and should absolutely take part in Technocity.”
Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan says that technology is one of the fundamental elements of societies’ development level; however, it is also one of the most important elements for companies to be persistent in the global economy and product their own technology. He also adds “Science and technology world is experiencing dizzying developments. Countries that want to have the right to comment on the world need to turn into a structure which has a high competitiveness in a global world. To maintain stability recently caught in the economic field in our country and to increase the weight of export in the economy, we should attach importance to innovation, AR-GE, design and branding. Technocity is the most successful model to provide the University-Industry cooperation.”
