In addition to making contributions to our language by proposing new words, Turkish Language Association (TLA) carries out studies on the index of abbreviations. Within this framework, the abbreviation of our university is determined as HİTÜ as a result of The Abbreviations of National and International Institutions and Organizations carried out by TLA in 2010.
