Within the framework of the collaboration between Hitit University Continuing Education Research and Application Center (HITITSEM) and Union of Turkish Participation Banks, ‘Participation Banking and Interest-free Finance’ training is being given to 45 students selected according to their grades from Master of Business Administration, bachelor's degree of Banking and Finance and associate degree programs of Finance, Banking and Insurance by Asst. Prof. Dr. İsmail Yıldırım from Hitit University Vocational School of Social Sciences.
During the certificate training organized to meet the need of qualified staff in the field of participation banking and interest-free finance, such issues as interest-free finance system,lease certificate, participation insurance and personal retirement, participation index, participation banking, methods of participation banks for collecting fund, methods of participation banks for supplying fund, services offered by participation banks, participation banking practices in Turkey, international practices will be provided with a 20-hour intensive training.
‘Interest free banking’ or known as ‘participation banking’ in our country has been implemented for more than 40 years in world and it has 30-year past in Turkey. There are currently five participation banks in Turkey: Albaraka Turk, Asya Participation, Kuveyt Turk, Türkiye Finans and Ziraat Participation founded in 2015. By the end of 2014, nearly 17 thousand people are employed in 990 branches in total. The share gotten by participation banks from Turkish banking sector has risen to 6% by the end of 2014. According to an international study published by Ernst&Young, it is foreseen that participation banking will have 15% market share and total asset will be almost 180 billion USD in 2023 when 100th anniversary of Republic will be celebrated.
In the light of these developments in the fields of participation banking and interest-free finance, our university organizes panel, training programs and certificate programs including participation banking in curriculums in order to meet the need for qualified labor force in the field.
Upon completing the certificate training carried out within this scope, certificates for successful students in the exam and attendance documents for other students will be given in a ceremony.
