“Soil Analysis Laboratory” existing within the structure of Hitit University Scientific and Technical Research Center (HÜBTUAM) which was opened in 2014 came into service with the opening ceremony.
Çorum Governor Ahmet Kara, our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan, Food, Agriculture and Livestock Provincial Director Erkan Elfaz Ermiş, President of the Agriculture Chamber Mehmet Sayan and board members, HÜBTUAM Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan Kurtbaş and our university lecturers attended in the opening.
Making explanation before the opening ceremony, our Rector Prof. Dr. Alkan said “Our university and Çorum Agriculture Chamber reached a mutual understanding about doing soil analysis of our region in Hitit University. As a result of the studies starting on this issue, Soil Analysis Laboratory of Our University came into service with the cooperation of Çorum Provincial Food, Agriculture and Livestock Directorate.
The samples sent to neighboring provinces for analysis so far will be able to be analyzed in Hitit University Scientific and Technical Research Center. In HÜBTUAM Soil Analysis Laboratory which aims to serve for Çorum, region and all the farmers, high-precision analysis can be done with general laboratory devices such as EC Meter and pH Meter as well as Spectrophotometer and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy(ASS). Within this context, the analysis identifying the fertilizer needs such as soil acidity (pH), lime, total salt, organic matter, available phosphorus, available potassium of a field or garden soil can be done.”
Çorum Governor Ahmet Kara said “Soil is everything for us. Available fertilizer for the soil is identified by soil analysis. It is a nice implementation that Soil Analysis Laboratory came into service in Hitit University. We wait similar steps from all the universities. Hitit University is doing good and successful work in this direction. Congrats for the laboratory.”
Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Device was examined by the delegation after the opening ceremony.
The analysis done according to the Scope 1(Basic Analysis in Soil), T.R. Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Directorate General Purpose Agricultural Land, Establishment of Plant and Irrigation Water Analysis Laboratory, Authorization and Inspection Circular (Circular No: 2013/1) will be shared open to be controlled by Ministry officials on Agricultural Information System.
