To be organized with the collaboration of T.R. Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, T.R. Ministry of National Education, Turkish Labor Institution, Vocational Qualification Institute, Çorum Governorship, Çorum Municipality, Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ÇTSO), Çorum Union of Chamber of Merchants and Craftsmen (ÇESOB), Çorum Branch of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) between the dates of October 12-15, 2016, studies are conducted for ISVET2016 (International Symposium on Post-Secondary Vocational Education and Training) in which vocational education and training will be discussed regarding national and international aspects.
Within this concept, information on the symposium was shared with the press in the press conference attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan and symposium regulatory board.
Stating that ISVET’2016 will be an international event with the attendance of the academicians from universities in various countries of the world especially USA, England, Germany, France, Italy and Spain in the 40th anniversary of our Vocational School, our Rector Prof. Dr. Alkan said, “ the importance of that event is not only organizing an international event. As you know, there are 193 universities and they have over 6 million students. 33% of them study in vocational schools. Currently, approximately 1000 vocational schools provide vocational and technical education. With regards to 2023, 2050 and 2071 visions of Turkey, we need not only engineers or social scientists but also technicians as intermediate staff to carry out projects with sector.”

“As Hitit University, we sincerely believe that vocational schools have an important vision. The activities prove our belief in that issue. The occupation rate has risen from 70-72% to 95-98%.” continued Rector Prof. Dr. Alkan stating that huge investments were made in all our vocational schools including the ones in the districts.
Rector Prof. Dr. Alkan emphasized that ISVET2016 Symposium will contibute to vocational education by discussing the issue in international arena and thanked to those who contributed.
