Turkey Interuniversities Wrestling Championship held within the collaboration of Turkey University Sports Federation and hosted by our university started with the opening ceremony.
Chief Prosecutor Ömer Faruk Yurdagül, our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan, Youth Services and Sports Provincial Director Haşim Eğer, Çorum President of the Chamber of Commerce Çetin Başaranhıncal, PES Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faruk Yamaner, Wrestling Provincial Representative Hüseyin Teke, sportsmen of the university teams and championship technical committee participated in the ceremony.
In the program starting with the speech of Youth Services and Sports Provincial Director Haşim Eğer, our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan said “We are happy to host Turkey Interuniversities Wrestling Championship held with the participation of 1000 people, 750 of whom is sportsman from 75 different universities. We believe that the champion of the 12th World University Wrestling Championships which will be held on October 25-30, 2016 hosted by our university will be one of the sportsmen here. We hope that we will be proud of you on that day.”
“As a result of the lengthy study marathon, holding 12th World University Wrestling Championships hosted by our university was provided. I thank especially the president of Turkey University Sports Federation Prof. Dr. Kemal Tamer and our Governor, our Members of Parliament, our Mayor, Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry President and all those who contributed. It will be an activity which hundreds of sportsmen from all over the world will participate in and this is great for our province.” said our Rector Prof. Dr. Alkan.
