Our university pays attention to provide conditions and resources needed to protect the environment and it adopts this as the objectives and principles of the university.
Our university, which also shows the importance given to environmental awareness with its applications continues to its works such as minimizing the amount of waste that may occur in order to prevent environmental pollution, reuse of tailings and/or gaining recycling in line with the requirements of legislation. Visible examples in our university are as in the following: North Campus Heat Center produces our own energy via trigeneration system, a separate line of the roof and rainwater collection (catchwork), the use of paper collection bin for paper and packaging waste will be recycled under the waste management, the provision of the necessary procedures for hazardous waste. In addition to these, thanks to Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) which has been used by all of our units since 1 January 2015, approximately 500.000 documents in 2015 and 140.000 documents in first 5 months of 2016 have been processed electronically and this provide to save fuel, paper, toner. As a reault of these applications, our university has applied to Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the goal of becoming a Green Campus and strives to be a role model.
