2017 rankings of Turkish Universities have been announced by University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory founded within the body of Middle East Technical University (METU) with the aim of evaluating higher education institutions in terms of academic success. According to the results, our university has risen to 71st rank with 6-level increase in “All Universities General Ranking” compared to the last year. Although our University has just begun medical education in Çorum this year, it is in 55th rank in “General Ranking of Universities with Medical Faculty”.
In these rankings performed by URAP Research Laboratory since 2009, such international sources as Web of Science/InCites and data published by HEC. Following 9 different criteria are taken as basis;
In URAP rankings for the universities founded after 2000, while our University was in 41st rank in 2011 it has risen to 14th rank with 27 level increase among 77 universities. As for the ranking of state universities, our University is in 59th rank among 102 state universities while it was in 88th rank in 2011.
This ranking system developed by URAP Research Laboratory enables the universities to have information of their situation, recognize their inadequacies and develop themselves. The aim in this system is to help universities to realize areas open to improvement according to detected criteria.
Young Hitit University which is just 11 years old has been growing with the efforts of our valuable academicians and continuing successful studies. As a result, our University continues to rise in national and international scaled researches and university success rankings. The increasing success of Hitit University which favors not only quantitative growth but also qualitative growth is undoubtedly not a personal one but is the result of studies conducted by all our academicians, administrative staff and stakeholders.
