Mine Detection System Developed with 100% Local Facilities in our University

In cooperation our university, Gazi University and the Technical University of Karadeniz, a test system was established to detect all types of mines and buried handmade explosives within the scope of the defense industry project conducted by our university.

Our Rector Dr. Reha Metin Alkan, Dean of Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. Ali Kılıçarslan and the project team participated in a press conference held in the introduction of a mine detector prototype that detects all kinds of mines and buried handmade explosives as a result of the "Detection of Embedded Objects by Magnetic Anomaly Method (Mine Detection System)".

Gazi University academic members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemal Yılmaz and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Sönmez, Ph.D. Salih Söyler, Karadeniz Technical University lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hamdi Tolga Kahraman, our university Lecturer Mehmet Fatih Isik and Res. Asst. Çağrı Suiçmez took place in the project which was supported by 14 thousand liras by Hitit University Scientific Research Projects.

The detector, which protects the operator against explosion and minimizes the rate of false alarms, can be classified by the artificial intelligence algorithm by distinguishing the hand-made explosives according to their size, with a new generation of mine detector which has 3 years of R & D.

Lecturer Mehmet Fatih Işık in Engineering Faculty of Our University gave a short introduction about the study by giving information about the process that the project has reached up to this time.
