Concrete Road Works in North Campus

Our university places great emphasis on ensuring that our campuses and our colleagues have a structure that is internationally standardized, energy-saving, high-security with electronic systems, unobstructed, in all, illustrative examples. Examples of our province and our country in this context, our University continues to work in a restructuring, rather than the classical approach, using a new concept in Turkey, without neglecting environmentalism and manufactures the most appropriate projects taking into account the public on the sustainability factor.

Very few studies that have been realized in the implementation of projects in Turkey who signed our university, our North Campus since its construction and manufacturing concrete way to apply to approximately 50,000 m² continues to this understanding. As part of the infrastructure works of our university, a large part of the 4 km underground gallery lines that have been constructed in our North Campus has been completed and the excavation of roads for frequent repairs / renovations with concrete roads started to be constructed will be minimized as much as possible.

The pavements and bicycle paths in the North Campus will be made in the same way. This will save on the cost of coating and the maintenance and repair costs will be reduced.

Our Rector Dr. Alkan Examines Concrete Road Works

Rector of our university Dr. Reha Metin Alkan, General Secretary Erdal Kanık and Head of Construction and Technical Department Hasan Baylavli examined the concrete road works that were started to be built in our North Campus.

Professor Rector, who made explanations during the reviews said: "We are trying to create a living space that is genuinely engaging and encouraging. As is known, underground gallery lines were built for infrastructure connections to our North Campus. However, one of the very few applications used in Turkey is the concept which we started to implement concrete way." Our Rector Dr. Alkan stressed the importance of being able to produce concrete roads with local resources and emphasized that they are two times longer than asphalt roads.
