As in the academic platforms all around the world, information and evaluation meetings were held in our university on Open Access and Open Science, which the Higher Education Council (CoHE) attaches great importance to and keeps studies on.
The first meeting was held with the members of the Open Access Advisory Board of the University, which was established recently. At the meeting chaired by Vice Rector Prof. Nurcan Baykam, informations were made about the concrete steps to be taken by CoHE about Open Science and Open Access which Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç has stated. At the meeting where technical information related to the use of da DSpace software, which is in use as the Open Access System in our university since 2014, was given and the works to be done for the development of the system were emphasized.
In the second meeting held with the deans and managers of our education units, in addition to the above mentioned issues, evaluations were made on the studies that could be done to use the Open Access System and disseminate the data entry. In this context, other studies and practices that the University has already done and can do are reviewed.
