Our university has achieved great success among universities around the world that have been selected for being evaluated in the fields of environmental awareness and compliance. 55 universities were participated from Turkey including Istanbul Technical University, Erciyes University and Middle East Technical University, which were ranked in top-3. In Greenmetric Ranking of World Universities, our university was 7 out of 55 universities which applied from our country. Hitit University ranked 208th, leaving 704 of 912 universities behind in the ranking made worldwide.
Founded by the University of Indonesia in 2010, World University IU Greenmetric Network included 55 Turkish universities among 912 universities all over the world for the assessment in the categories of education and research such as energy and climate change, waste management, water resources and transport.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman ÖZTÜRK expressed his pleasure that the data obtained as a result of the evaluation among 912 universities all over the world was made within international standards.
Emphasizing that Hitit University is one of the higher education institutions that constitute a role model with its applications in areas such as the systematic maintenance of waste management, recycling, lighting and heating, and education and scientific studies within the framework of the Integrated Environmental Information System (ECBS), Prof. Dr. Öztürk noted the following:
“The application of the trigeneration system is among the sample studies conducted at our university. Environmental awareness is taken into consideration at every stage in newly constructed buildings. At the point of campus development, we carefully carry out the necessary works within this scope and try to ensure sustainability. We will continue to take necessary steps to protect the environment with our university's environmental compliance and zero waste aims”.
