Our Faculty of Fine Arts third-year student Süneyya Özdağ's project, 2209-A ‘University Student Research Projects Support Programme’ and accepted in the second term of 2023. The opening of the exhibition was conducted by Associate Professor Muteber Burunsuz, Vice Dean of our Faculty and Project Advisor. In her opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Muteber Burunsuz emphasised the importance of the experience gained by Süneyya Özdağ from the project application to its completion and encouraged other students to participate in similar processes. Following the opening speech, project leader Süneyya Özdağ provided visitors with information about the project application, research, and production stages and answered questions directed at her. She shared her feelings and thoughts on how the experience he gained during this process was reflected in his works. In her works made from waste objects, Özdağ touched upon topics such as nature, environmental pollution, production, consumption, technology and sustainability, explaining how she brought concepts and waste objects together. She stated that objects, freed from their original roles and positions, gain a new function through transformation, and that materials with no practical value offer freedom in artistic production and can be transformed into artistic displays. The exhibition, which included materials and objects beyond traditional methods in the context of art production, saw significant participation from Painting Department faculty members and students. The exhibition can be visited until 4 March 2025 in the foyer of the Administrative Building at the Vocational Schools Campus.
