Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nevzat Gencer, a faculty member of our Department of Social Work, met with students of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program at Alaca Avni Çelik Vocational School. During the seminar titled “Building the Self: Entrepreneurship, Communication and Mental Health for Young People,” important insights on personal development, entrepreneurship, and psychological resilience were shared with the students.
In his talk, Gencer stated that human personality is gradually shaped through choices and experiences, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness, self-development, and self-management in the process of individual growth. He also noted that curiosity, discipline, patience, and strong communication skills are among the common characteristics of successful individuals, sharing inspiring examples from both history and the present.
Gencer further emphasized that entrepreneurship should not be understood merely as starting a business, but also as a mindset focused on generating solutions to problems. He encouraged young people to step outside their comfort zones and to develop their potential.
The program, which attracted significant interest, concluded with a question-and-answer session with the students.
