Hitit University Rises 465 Places in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2026 Teaching Category
Times Higher Education (THE), one of the world’s most prestigious higher education ranking organizations, has announced the results of the 2026 World University Rankings.
According to the 2026 THE World University Rankings, Hitit University was ranked in the 1501+ band among all universities worldwide and achieved an impressive 465-place rise in the “Teaching” category.
Times Higher Education evaluates universities based on five main criteria: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry income, and international outlook. This year, 2,191 universities were ranked, while 109 universities from Türkiye were included in the evaluation.
Hitit University ranked 41st among Turkish universities listed in the global ranking and 8th among 35 state universities established after 2000.
Hitit University Shows Significant Progress in the Teaching Category
In the Times Higher Education (THE) 2026 World University Rankings, Hitit University climbed 465 places in the Teaching category. Ranked 1821st in the THE 2025 list, the university advanced to 1356th place in 2026.
Between 2024 and 2026, Hitit University also improved its percentile ranking in the teaching category by nearly 30 points, from 8.7% to 38.1%. While the university was in the top 9% globally in 2024, it reached the top 38% in 2026.
In Türkiye’s national context, Hitit University rose 24 places in the teaching category compared to the previous year. While it ranked 61st among 91 Turkish universities in the 2025 evaluation, it moved up to 37th among 109 universities in the 2026 ranking.
Among universities established after 2000, Hitit University advanced from 10th place last year to 5th place in 2026 in the teaching category.
