Applications for Additional Exams for Students Who Have Reached the Maximum Period of Study
Pursuant to Article 44/c of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, “in order for final-year students to be able to graduate from the higher education institutions in which they are enrolled at the end of the maximum period of study, they are granted 2 additional exam rights for all courses they have failed (including courses they have never taken). As a result of these exams, those who reduce the number of failed courses to 5 are granted 3 semesters for these 5 courses; students who have up to 5 failed courses without taking the additional exams are granted 4 semesters; and those who have failed 1 course are granted the right to take the exams for the course they have failed an unlimited number of times without benefiting from student rights…” In accordance with this provision, ADDITIONAL EXAMS will be organized for our students who have completed the maximum period of study.
Final-year students who cannot graduate at the end of the maximum period of study must submit their petitions to the educational units in which they are enrolled between August 25 and September 05, 2025, by the end of working hours, in order to exercise their Additional Exam rights pursuant to Article 44/c of Law No. 2547.
Students who do not apply to benefit from the exam rights will be deemed to have waived these rights, and actions will be taken in accordance with the relevant legislation regarding their status.
Students who take part in the aforementioned application/exams are required to pay the student contribution fee/tuition fee for the relevant term.
This announcement has the nature of a NOTIFICATION, and no separate written notification will be made to students.
The application and exam dates for the Additional Exams have been determined in the academic calendar as follows:
Application Dates : August 25 – September 05, 2025
1st Additional Exam Dates : September 08–09, 2025
2nd Additional Exam Dates : September 11–12, 2025
