Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Organized a Technical Field Trip to Ankara
A technical field trip was organized to Ankara on Thursday, November 20, as part of Hitit University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences activities, with the aim of enabling students to observe the historical and cultural heritage they study in theory.
Within the program, the participants visited the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and the Ethnography Museum. Afterwards, the group proceeded to the Presidential National Library, where they visited the “Library,” the “Golden Age of Archaeology Exhibition,” and the “Anatolian Seljuk Exhibition.”
The program was attended by Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Şarbak, Dr. Lecturer Hakan Yazar, Lecturer Dr. Mücahit Akkuş, Research Assistant Semih Gerçek, and students from the Departments of Anthropology, Archaeology, History, and Turkish Language and Literature.
Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Işık, emphasized that visiting archaeological sites, historical and cultural places, buildings, museums, and libraries is highly important for students in terms of internalizing the knowledge they acquire theoretically. He also stated that such programs are carried out periodically. Prof. Dr. Işık extended his thanks to the instructors and students who participated in the trip, as well as to the Rectorate of Hitit University and the Municipality of Çorum for their transportation support.
