As the Department of Coaching Education at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Hittite University, we held an interim evaluation meeting with our external stakeholder, the Çorum Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, within the scope of the "External Stakeholder Protocol".
The meeting, hosted by the Provincial Directorate, was attended by Mr. Mustafa Demirkıran, Director of the Çorum Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, Prof. Dr. Erkan Demirkan, Head of our Department, and our Department Vice-Chairs, Dr. Sibel Yıldırım and Dr. Furkan Çamiçi.
During the meeting, mutual views were exchanged on the accreditation process being carried out by our department, and the current status of our students gaining field experience within the Provincial Directorate as part of their specialised training was evaluated. It was stated that the practical training process carried out by 48 of our students under the guidance of coaches during the Autumn Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year has made significant contributions to their professional development. Furthermore, plans were discussed to continue this collaboration in the same scope during the Spring Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year.
During the meeting, a common will was expressed to strengthen our students' practice-based education processes, improve the quality of their field experience, and sustainably develop inter-institutional collaboration.
As the Coaching Education Department, we will continue to strengthen and maintain collaborations that prioritise the integration of sport with academic infrastructure and aim to enhance our students' professional skills.
