Our Department Lecturer, Assoc. Prof. Dr Yetkin Utku Kamuk, met with students in Osmancık as part of the TÜBİTAK Science Talks series

Students in Osmancık Engage with Science: High Turnout for TÜBİTAK Science Talks 

Associate Professor Yetkin Utku Kamuk, a member of our department’s academic staff, met with students in the Osmancık district of Çorum as part of the “Science Talks” programme supported by TÜBİTAK.

At the event held at Osmancık Şehit Öğretmen Şenay Aybüke Yalçın Secondary School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamuk addressed students, teachers and parents with a talk titled “Healthy Living and Exercise”. During the talk, important information was shared on healthy lifestyle habits, correct exercise methods and mindful living.

The programme, which attracted keen interest from the students, continued in an interactive manner with a question-and-answer session. At the end of the event, it was observed that participants’ awareness of the subject had increased.

In his statement, Headteacher Sefa Kayalı emphasised that they attach great importance to scientific events, noting that they aim to make the TÜBİTAK Science Fair and science talks a regular feature. Osmancık District Director of National Education İdris Makineci, meanwhile, stressed that such events are of great importance for the development of students and thanked Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamuk for his contributions.

At the end of the programme, certificates of appreciation prepared by TÜBİTAK were presented by District Director of National Education İdris Makineci to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yetkin Utku Kamuk and School Principal Sefa Kayalı.

As a department, we hope that such events, which bring students together with science, will continue to grow in number, and we thank all stakeholders for their contributions.
