The Spirit of July 15 Passed on to Future Generations Through the Lens of Hitit University Students
On July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, students of Hitit University Vocational School of Social Sciences, Media and Communication Program actively took part in commemorative events as part of values education.
During the activities, students followed the cemetery visit and the Democracy and National Unity Day march with media equipment, conducting interviews and recording reflections on the significance of the day while gaining practical professional experience.
As part of the program, interviews were conducted with Çorum Governor Ali Çalgan, Çorum Mayor Dr. Halil İbrahim Aşgın, and Hitit University Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Öztürk. The officials emphasized that July 15 symbolizes the nation’s will, commitment to democracy, and spirit of national unity, highlighting the importance of passing this awareness on to future generations.
The commemoration continued with a visit to the cemetery, where carnations were placed on the graves of martyrs and prayers were offered. In these emotional moments, students both documented the ceremonies and captured the feelings and thoughts of citizens.
Through this fieldwork within values education, Media and Communication Program students not only improved their professional skills but also contributed to preserving national and spiritual values. The interviews and news content prepared by the students aim to help convey the meaning and importance of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day to different segments of society.
