The Medical Promotion and Marketing Program is conducted under the Department of Medical Services and Techniques at Hitit University. The program aims to educate qualified medical promotion and marketing professionals who can effectively meet the growing demands of the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
The pharmaceutical and medical supplies sector is a rapidly developing field in Türkiye, as it is worldwide. Advances in medicine and healthcare technologies have increased the need for well-trained medical promotion personnel who possess not only sales skills but also scientific knowledge, communication competence, and ethical awareness. In this context, the Medical Promotion and Marketing Program has emerged as one of the most prominent vocational education fields in recent years.
The program was first launched in the 2012–2013 academic year under the Department of Health Programs with an initial intake of 30 students at the Vocational School. Since the 2013–2014 academic year, following the establishment of the Department of Medical Services and Techniques, the program has continued its educational activities under this department.
The duration of the program is two years. Its curriculum and compulsory internships are designed in line with the current needs of the pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare industries. Core courses include medical terminology, basic pharmacology, healthcare legislation, ethical medical promotion, communication skills, and marketing techniques, all delivered within an integrated and practice-oriented framework. The program aims to train graduates who are not merely sales-oriented, but who understand healthcare systems, patient rights, and professional ethics.
Graduates who successfully complete the program are awarded an Associate Degree in Medical Promotion and Marketing. Alumni are eligible for employment in pharmaceutical companies, medical and orthopedic product manufacturers, cosmetic firms, private insurance companies, and national or international organizations involved in the production and marketing of medical products. In addition, graduates may pursue further academic advancement through vertical transfer to related bachelor’s degree programs.
