Our department held a student meeting on 19 November 2025 under the chairmanship of the Head of Department, Asst. Prof. Ahmet Bolat. Faculty members and students attended the meeting.
The meeting first addressed alternative measurement and evaluation methods, as well as the processes related to course content and instruction. Dr. Bolat emphasized the value of student feedback in improving the educational process and highlighted the importance of satisfaction surveys. Information was also provided regarding ongoing communication with students via e-mail and the university information system (UBYS).
The department’s orientation process was evaluated, and the procedures related to make-up examinations were explained by Lecturer Ayşe Aksoy and Asst. Prof. İlknur Tüfekçi.
Views regarding physical areas on campus were also shared. Information was given about the seating areas in the garden and the planned arrangements within the scope of the smoke-free campus initiative. Suggestions on social activities were discussed, and it was noted that technical trips and various events could be organized through the newly established student club.
Students shared their opinions on topics such as course load, classroom arrangements, elective courses, and the alignment of course content with professional practice. The overall efficiency of courses, accessibility of instructors, and practices aimed at increasing student participation were among the topics discussed during the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, decisions were taken to record student feedback; diversify social activities; improve assessment and evaluation processes; and review course content in alignment with program needs.
