The Project ‘From Village to the Future: Science and Technology’ Has Been Awarded Support under TÜBİTAK 4009
The project titled “From Village to the Future: Science and Technology,” coordinated by Asst. Prof. Ahmet Bolat, a faculty member in our department, has been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 4009 Support Program for Village Schools.
The project aims to bring middle school students studying in village schools together with science and technology through interactive practices. Within the scope of the two-day project, students will have the opportunity to develop their observation, experimentation, problem-solving, digital production, and creative thinking skills by participating in science and technology-based workshop activities. In addition, it is planned that the local village community will also be involved in the process through talks and product-sharing activities.
The project “From Village to the Future: Science and Technology” was prepared with the idea that science should be accessible, understandable, and experienceable not only in city centers but also in village schools. In this respect, the project aims to support the scientific literacy of students in village schools, increase their interest in science, and strengthen scientific awareness at the local level.
Within the project, faculty members from Hitit University will serve as instructors, while students from our department will take part as guides. Based on the principle of bringing the university’s scientific knowledge and experience to village schools, the project aims to contribute to transforming academic knowledge into social benefit.
The project is planned to be implemented in the coming days at Arifegazili Village Middle School in Sungurlu, Çorum. We would like to thank all academic staff and stakeholders who contributed to this achievement.
