TÜBİTAK 2209-A Project by Our Department Students Receives Funding Support

The project titled “Development of a Perception Scale Towards Phytopharmaceuticals for Higher Education Students: Validity and Reliability”, led by our department student Mehlika Hatice DURNAOĞLU, has qualified for support within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program.

The project, supervised by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet BOLAT, a faculty member of our department, aims to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine higher education students’ perceptions of phytopharmaceutical products. Ebru ULUÇAY, Mustafa Emin SAYAR, Gamze Nur AKAR and Sude Nur AKYÜZ are also involved in the project as researchers.

Within the scope of the project, a scale development process will be carried out covering the dimensions of knowledge and awareness, safety and risk perception, perceived effectiveness and trust, and conscious use and decision-making tendency regarding phytopharmaceutical products. Accordingly, the stages of scale development, such as item pool generation, expert review, pilot testing, main implementation, and validity and reliability analyses, will be followed.

The increasing use of phytopharmaceutical products makes it important to evaluate individuals’ knowledge, trust, risk perception and conscious use tendencies regarding these products through scientific methods. In this respect, the project is expected to contribute both to the relevant literature and to the promotion of safe and conscious use of phytopharmaceutical products in society.
