HISTORY
In 1992, it began its educational activities under the name Computer Programming. Starting in the 2003-2004 academic year, it was restructured as part of a Ministry of National Education (MEB)-YÖK (Higher Education Council of Turkey) project and renamed Computer Technology and Programming. In the 2009-2010 academic year, the program was renamed Computer Programming by a decision of the YÖK.
PURPOSE
Computer Programming is a science related to computer use, software development, software and hardware maintenance and repair, and the installation and management of computer networks. The program trains intermediate personnel, with the title of Computer Programming Technician, for the public and private computer sectors.
EDUCATION
The duration of education in the associate degree program is two years and consists of four semesters. Courses are taught semester-wise, with a minimum of 14 weeks per semester, for a total of 56 weeks of instruction. Each student is required to complete a 30-day Compulsory Internship.
Lateral transfer opportunities are available between vocational schools. Graduates who successfully pass the DGS exam can transfer to a relevant undergraduate program (Computer Systems Education, Computer Education, Computer Engineering, etc.) within formal education.
