HISTORY
- It commenced educational activities in 1980 under the name Construction Programme.
- It was restructured as part of the MEB-YÖK project starting from the 2003-2004 academic year.
- Starting from the 2009-2010 academic year, the name of the programme was changed to Construction Technology by decision of the YÖK.
PURPOSE
Our programme aims to train technical personnel with the title of construction technician, who possess more theoretical knowledge than technicians and more practical skills than engineers, as well as general knowledge in construction, in order to meet the career goals and professional expectations of our graduates in the future. In this context, our students:
EA1-Acquire sufficient knowledge and skills in fundamental topics related to science, technology, and their profession, and become knowledgeable in project preparation and evaluation using the information they have acquired, enabling them to work in the manufacturing and service sectors.
EA2-Become lifelong learners who follow innovations appropriate to the conditions of the day and can continuously improve themselves.
EA3-Be able to meet the need for qualified personnel between managers/engineers and workers in the production and after-sales service sectors,
EA4-Be able to analyse and solve problems encountered on site using a systems approach, and be able to take responsibility with knowledge and awareness of occupational health and safety issues,
and graduate with these competencies.
EDUCATION - TEACHING
The duration of the programme is 2 years. A total of 56 weeks of education and training are provided in 4 periods of 14 weeks each. In addition, each student has a mandatory 20-day internship.
INTER-UNIVERSITY TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates who successfully complete the Construction Technology Associate Degree Programme can transfer to the following departments through the Vertical Transfer Exam administered by ÖSYM: Civil Engineering and Architecture.
