A TÜBİTAK project conducted at Hitit University will synthesize epoxy materials using new molecules.
The project, titled "Synthesis of Tosyloxirane Derivative Indole Compounds," prepared by Prof. Dr. Sinan Başçeken, a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at Hitit University's Faculty of Science and Literature, has been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Module.
The project aims to synthesize epoxy materials by conducting effective research involving indole and epoxide ring systems.
Prof. Dr. Sinan Başçeken stated that the compounds planned for synthesis contain both indole and epoxide ring systems, adding, "We plan to achieve our goal by conducting the research with new molecules. As is known, epoxy-containing materials are used in many areas, such as metal coatings, electronic components, and high-voltage electrical insulators. The epoxy we will synthesize will be a new formula that can be used in different areas of the industry. Other parameters such as service life and durability will be obtained through studies in materials science and the production phase."
