A Science-Filled Day with Students with Disabilities!

A Science-Filled Day for Students with Disabilities at the Martyr Mehmet Kocakaya Food Processing Department Laboratory of Our Vocational School! Our vocational school hosted a meaningful science event for students with special needs. Students from Alaca Special Education Application School were welcomed at the Martyr Mehmet Kocakaya Food Processing Department Laboratory, enjoying a day full of both scientific and social experiences. The event, aimed at raising social awareness and making science accessible to everyone, allowed students to observe a simple chemical reaction. The reaction created by combining baking soda and vinegar was demonstrated practically. The addition of pink and red food colorings created foaming and colorful overflows, creating exciting moments in the laboratory. Students both had fun and learned how a basic chemical reaction occurs during the experiment.

Following the laboratory activity, the special education students also created a meaningful surprise. As part of the annual Green Crescent Week celebrations, they distributed handmade cards they had prepared to our vocational school students. The students sharing their own handmade cards added an emotional and meaningful dimension to the event. It was stated that the activity, which was carried out in a laboratory environment, not only increased children's interest in science but also strengthened social interaction and contributed to them having an unforgettable experience. At the end of the event, the Alaca Avni Çelik Vocational School Directorate stated that they will continue to organize activities aimed at increasing scientific and social awareness by bringing together different segments of society.
