Information for Students Who Will Be Doing Internships in the 2025-2026 Academic Year

Students of our Vocational School who will be doing internships in the 2025-2026 academic year should contact their advisor to obtain information regarding their internship dates. The internship duration is separately determined for each program. Students who will be doing their internships must review the provisions in our University's Vocational Schools Internship Guidelines and complete their internships accordingly. Students who have determined their internship dates and workplaces must have their Internship Acceptance documents signed (signed, sealed, stamped, or e-signed) by the workplace and send them by post (preferably PTT Registered Mail) to our Vocational School address 15 days before the start date of their internship. Students are responsible for all consequences arising from documents arriving after the start date of the internship.

The internship procedures for students accepted through the National Internship Program (Career Gateway) will be carried out according to the relevant National Internship Program guidelines. Students who have received an internship offer must contact the institution where they will be doing their internship (via telephone, email, etc.) and ensure that they send our school an internship acceptance letter specifying the internship days, start and end dates, and the number of weekly working days, and/or a three-copy internship contract approved by the institution.

2. Is there a difference between the National Internship Program and internships outside of the National Internship Program?

While there is no difference in terms of educational obligations, the National Internship Program is a method monitored by the Presidency's Human Resources Office to make internship opportunities in public institutions and the private sector accessible to all university students through a transparent, traceable, and innovative evaluation method.

Our students can do internships in the private sector related to their field outside of the National Internship Program. Students who wish to do internships in public institutions must apply through the Presidency's Human Resources Office Career Portal within the scope of the National Internship Program.

3. Where can I get information about internships?

Students can get information about any issues they have regarding internships from their advisor and department head. Furthermore, maintaining contact with your advisor regarding internships is mandatory.

4. Where can I do an internship?

You must do your internship in places that operate in fields related to the characteristics of your program. The purpose of an internship is to experience firsthand the practical applications of the theoretical education you receive at school in the workplace.

Applications for internships under the National Internship Program are accepted through the Kariyer Kapısı (Career Gateway) platform. Students who do not apply through Kariyer Kapısı and who are graduating and want to complete their internships as soon as possible can do so in private sector companies or Non-Governmental Organizations related to their field of study.

5. When can I do an internship?

Internships can only be done outside of academic semesters. However, students who have completed their courses and only have their internships remaining can also do their internships during the academic semester.

Furthermore, students who apply to the Presidency Human Resources Office Career Portal will be able to do their internships according to the placements made by the Presidency Office.

6. Who covers the insurance costs for the intern?

According to Law No. 5510, Hitit University is responsible for paying the "work accident and occupational disease insurance premiums" for students who apply for internships during their internship period. Furthermore, if the student does not have any other health insurance, the General Health Insurance (GSS) premium will also be paid by Hitit University.
