The congress is organized by the Department of International Relations within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Hitit University.

3- What are the distinguishing features of the congress?

The congress is peer-reviewed, scientific, and international in character. It is open to all researchers working on security or able to relate their own field of study to security. The fifth congress will be held on 20-22 November 2026 in a hybrid (online or in person, at the participant's preference) format.

4- What does it mean for the congress to be international?

The Hitit Security Congress qualifies as international because its scientific and advisory boards include scholars from the international community and all papers undergo an objective peer-review process. In addition, the participation of academics and researchers from international institutions as invited speakers, the presentation of papers by scholars from abroad, and the possibility of participating with presentations in different languages further strengthen the international character of the congress.

5- Who can attend the congress?

All academics, expert researchers, and graduate-level students who prepare a paper in line with the writing rules relevant to the stated purpose and scope may apply. Applications will be reviewed by referees according to objective criteria.

6- What is the purpose of the congress?

At its most fundamental level, the aim of our congress is to bring together scholars working in the field of security around an academic table and to discuss everything that is on the security agenda.

7- What topics does the scope of the congress cover?

Broadly speaking, our congress is open to all researchers who work on security or who can relate their fields of study to security. Beyond this general statement, our congress topics include international security, migration, terrorism, area studies, intelligence, ontological security, public security, societal security, environmental security, the defense industry, transnational crimes, economic security, the crypto economy, cybersecurity, geopolitics, diplomacy, international law, criminology, globalization debates, conflict and crisis management, peace studies and dispute resolution, international organizations, and other current issues.

8- Is there a fee to attend the congress?

A participation fee is required from participants for our congress to be held in November 2026. For information, please click here.

9- By what method will presentations be delivered at the congress?

Our congress will be held in a hybrid (in person and online) format. Participants must indicate in the application form in which format they wish to attend.

10- How can I apply to the congress?

You can apply by completing the application form found under the writing rules tab on our congress page — into which you will also insert your paper text — and sending it to our congress e-mail address. Our congress e-mail address is guvenlikkongresi@hitit.edu.tr.

11- Is it possible to participate with a co-authored paper?

Yes. The first name listed on the paper is considered to be the person who will deliver the presentation.

12- Is it possible to participate with more than one paper?

Yes. A single person may participate with a maximum of two papers.

13- I have sent the application form containing my paper to your e-mail address. Is there anything else I need to do? When will I learn the result?

Shortly after your application reaches our e-mail, an acknowledgment reply will be sent to you. The accepted/rejected papers will be announced on 08.11.2026, and the scientific program of our congress will be published. However, in case we need to reach you regarding your application during the process, please fill in your contact details on the application form completely.

14- In which languages is it possible to submit a paper to the congress?

Papers are accepted in Turkish and English for our congress.

15- I have successfully presented my accepted paper. How does the subsequent process work?

A signed congress certificate of participation will be sent digitally to every author who successfully presents a paper. In addition, the paper texts will be included in the congress proceedings booklet.

16- What are the publication opportunities of the congress?

At the end of the congress, a congress proceedings book with an assigned ISSN number will be published.
