What is Logistics?
Logistics is defined as
the process of planning, implementing, transporting, storing, and controlling
the effective and efficient two-way flow of all types of goods, services, and
related information, from the point of origin (source) to the point of consumption
(final consumer), within the supply chain, to meet customer requirements. (http://cscmp.org)
Etymology of the Word
"Logistics"
Logistics is derived from
the Greek word logisticos, meaning the science of calculation and
accounting or skill in calculation. (Koban and Keser, 2007)
General Information
about the Logistics Program
Program Overview
Students who obtain a
sufficient score from the University Entrance Examination or meet the
requirements for transition without examination are entitled to start the
associate degree program of the department. The Logistics Program is a two-year
social program that provides instruction on the concepts, theory, rules,
and applications of logistics.
Objective: The goal of the Logistics Program is to train qualified
logistics personnel who possess competent knowledge in logistics, have a
good command of a foreign language, can utilize information technology, and can
manage customer relations, thereby supporting businesses' global operations in
an effective and economic manner.
Language of
Instruction: Turkish.
Logistics Department
Courses
General courses are given
during the initial course periods of the logistics department. In subsequent
semesters, field-specific logistics courses are provided (such as
Introduction to Logistics, Principles of Logistics, Warehouse Management,
Transportation Systems, and Customs Legislation).
Qualification Obtained
Students who successfully
complete all the courses included in the curriculum receive the Associate
Degree with the title of Logistics Intermediate Staff.
Graduation
Requirements
To successfully complete
the program, it is necessary to pass all existing courses (equivalent to 120
ECTS credits), achieve a minimum weighted grade point average of 2.0 out of
4.00, and successfully complete the mandatory internship.
Transition to Higher
Degree Programs
Candidates who
successfully complete the Associate Degree education can study in bachelor's
degree programs, provided they obtain a valid score in the Vertical Transfer
Examination (DGS).

The salaries of logistics
graduates vary depending on the employee's educational level, experience,
