History and General Information
The Faculty was established as an affiliate of Gazi University under Law No. 3837, which amends Law No. 2809 on the acceptance of the Decree-Law No. 41 concerning the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, and Decree-Laws No. 78 and 190. This establishment was published in the Official Gazette dated 11.07.1992 and numbered 21281. It was officially inaugurated in 1997 under the name Gazi University Çorum Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
Starting its educational activities in the 1998–1999 academic year with 70 students admitted to the Business Administration Department under Gazi University, and producing its first graduates at the end of the 2001–2002 academic year, our Faculty was connected to Hitit University, which was founded in 2006.
In the following years, the Economics Department was opened in 2003, followed by the Public Administration and Public Finance Departments in 2005. The name of the Public Administration Department was changed to Political Science and Public Administration in 2010 following an application to YÖK for restructuring due to developments in political science and international relations.
Second Education programs for the Business Administration, Economics, and Political Science and Public Administration Departments were also opened in 2007, 2008, and 2010, respectively. In 2013, the Finance and Banking Department was opened and started its educational activities with 30 students.
The International Relations Department was opened in 2012, followed by the Health Management and International Trade and Logistics Management Departments in 2014. The Labor Economics and Industrial Relations Department was opened in 2016. The International Trade and Logistics Management Department started education with 32 students in 2017. The Health Management Department was transferred to the Faculty of Health Sciences in 2018.
In 2018, the English program for the Political Science and Public Administration Department was opened. The PS&PA English program and the Labor Economics and Industrial Relations Department have been admitting students as of 2018.
Within our University's Institute, the Business Administration, Economics, Political Science and Public Administration, and Finance and Banking Departments offer Master’s and Doctoral programs. There are Thesis/Non-Thesis Master’s and Doctoral programs in the Business Administration Division, a Master’s program in the Economics Division, Thesis/Non-Thesis Master’s programs in the Political Science and Public Administration Division, and Thesis/Non-Thesis Master’s programs in the Finance and Banking Division.
