Prof. Dr. Murat Ülgül (Karadeniz Technical University) Discusses Turkish-American Relations at Department Event

At the online event organized by our department, Prof. Dr. Murat Ülgül from Karadeniz Technical University, Department of International Relations, participated as a speaker and addressed the subject of "personal diplomacy," which has gained increasing importance in international relations. While evaluating the role of direct communication between leaders in foreign policy processes within a historical and theoretical framework, Ülgül presented current examples through leaders such as Trump, Biden, and Erdoğan. During the event, the advantages and risks of personal diplomacy were discussed, with particular attention drawn to the impact of leader-to-leader relations in the context of Türkiye-USA relations. The program, which attracted great interest from participants, concluded with a Q&A session.
