The Thesis-Based Master’s Program in the Department of Child Development aims to train qualified child development specialists who can assess the cognitive, language, motor, social, emotional development, and self-care skills of children aged 0–18, and conduct studies with typically developing children as well as those with special needs, children requiring protection, at-risk children, refugee children, children involved in delinquency, or children with acute or chronic illnesses.

The program is designed to enable students to plan, implement, and evaluate developmental support services at the levels of the child, family, educator, and society. Participants conduct original thesis research in the field of child development using scientific research methods and disseminate their findings through scientific publications and projects to contribute to the field.

The thesis-based master’s program aims to graduate individuals who can follow current national and international literature in the field, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide child- and family-centered counseling, adhere to ethical principles, think scientifically, and be productive. Graduates of the program are capable of developing innovative, sustainable, and socially beneficial applications in the field of child development by applying their research-based knowledge and skills.
