Our department was established based on a decision taken at the Higher Education General Assembly meeting on 10 March 2006. It began its educational activities in the 2009–2010 academic year. The department currently has 2 professors, 1 associate professor, 2 assistant professors, 3 research assistants, and 1 lecturer. A thesis-based master’s program was launched in the 2014–2015 academic year, and a doctoral program was opened in the 2020–2021 academic year.
The Department of Food Engineering aims to train modern engineers equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge, who possess the necessary skills in the production and processing of food, development of new products, quality control, packaging, and distribution. The department offers a 4-year undergraduate program, as well as thesis-based master’s and doctoral programs.
