About Us

The Department of Basic Islamic Sciences offers graduate education in eight academic subfields.

These fields, listed in alphabetical order, are as follows:

  1. Department of Arabic Language and Rhetoric

  2. Department of Hadith

  3. Department of Islamic Law

  4. Department of Tasawwuf

  5. Department of Kalām

  6. Department of Qur’anic Recitation and Qirā’āt

  7. Department of Tafsīr (Qur’anic Exegesis)

  8. Department of History of Islamic Sects

The academic staff currently employed in the department are distributed by titles as follows:

The Department of Basic Islamic Sciences offers Master’s and PhD programs under the Institute of Graduate Studies at Hitit University. At the Master’s level, the department provides programs in Basic Islamic Sciences – General Track (History of Islamic Sects and Qur’anic Recitation and Qirā’āt), as well as specialized programs in Tasawwuf, Arabic Language and Rhetoric, Kalām, Hadith, Tafsīr, and Islamic Law. At the doctoral level, the department offers programs in Kalām, Tafsīr, Islamic Law and the General Track of Basic Islamic Sciences. In addition, a Non-Thesis Master’s Program is also offered within the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences.
