On September 29, 2024, a training seminar titled “Preventing Violence Against Women”, prepared by the Hitit University Center for Women and Family Studies (HÜKAM), was delivered to our students by Lecturer Dr. Havva Değirmenci Tarakcı at our Vocational School.
The event was organized in two sessions. The first session included students from the Logistics, Occupational Health and Safety, Mapping and Cadastre, and Computer Programming programs; while the second session was attended by students from the Office Management and Executive Assistance, Industrial Product Design, Title Deed and Cadastre, Medical Documentation and Secretariat, and Electronic Technology programs.
During the seminar, students were provided with detailed information about violence, its types, the cycle of violence, and the social, economic, and societal consequences of violence against women, as well as the institutions and organizations that victims can apply to for support. Following the presentation, Lecturer Dr. Havva Değirmenci Tarakcı also answered questions from the students.
