On February 28, 2025, a meeting was held with Sadettin Çınar, a staff member of the Hamamözü Land Registry Office and a graduate of our program. The discussion focused on the curriculum of the Land Registry and Cadastre Program, ways to better equip students with professional skills, graduate employment opportunities, internship activities, and potential collaborative events.
Program Curriculum
It was observed that the curriculum of the Land Registry and Cadastre Program is largely aligned with the knowledge and competencies that graduates are expected to acquire. However, it was concluded that incorporating more practice-oriented activities into the course content would be beneficial. An agreement was reached on strengthening collaboration with land registry offices to enhance such practical experiences.
Graduate Employment
Graduates of the Land Registry and Cadastre Program are mostly employed in land registry offices. A review of recent years revealed a decline in recruitment within these offices and a general contraction of employment opportunities in the public sector compared to previous years. Therefore, the importance of equipping students with the necessary qualifications to find employment not only in the public sector but also in the private sector was emphasized. It was also suggested that students be encouraged to undertake internships at private-sector firms related to their field of study.
Internship Practice
The importance of internships focused on students’ targeted professions was highlighted to enhance their professional experience and practical skills. It was decided to take measures to ensure that students take their internship activities seriously and put genuine effort into them.
Collaboration and Joint Activities with External Stakeholders
To strengthen students’ practical knowledge and skills, it was decided to organize conferences and seminars, and it was also considered beneficial to arrange a visit to the Land Registry Office.
