An AFAD Accreditation System Information Meeting Was Held at Our Faculty

An information meeting regarding the AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency) Accreditation System was held at our faculty by the AFAD.

At the meeting, held on September 25, 2026, at 13:30 in the Central Classroom Building, Social Worker Rabia Öztürk provided information on preparing teams capable of responding to disasters and emergencies in accordance with specific standards, strengthening inter-institutional coordination, volunteer activities, and the functioning of the accreditation system.

General information was shared regarding the purpose and scope of the AFAD Accreditation System, accreditation areas, training and qualification processes, and the application and evaluation stages. The importance of inter-institutional cooperation, alongside the formation of trained and organized teams for disaster and emergency preparedness, was emphasized.

The meeting attracted significant interest from our faculty's academic and administrative staff, giving participants the opportunity to ask AFAD officials questions and gather information.

The meeting, which proved productive in terms of raising public awareness about disasters and strengthening the spirit of volunteerism, concluded following a session of mutual discussion and evaluation.
