Program Objective

The primary objective of the Child Protection and Care Services Program is to train care professionals who can provide protection and care services for children placed under state protection for various reasons, particularly those residing in child villages, child homes, and child support centers. The program aims to educate individuals who can offer educational, social, and moral support to these children.

 

Admission and Enrollment Requirements

Students who wish to enroll in our vocational school must obtain a sufficient score on the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), which is administered by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) as part of the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS).

 

Duration of Study

2 years

 

Degree Awarded

Graduates who successfully complete the program are awarded an Associate Degree in Child Protection and Care Services and earn the title of Child Protection and Care Specialist.

 

Career Opportunities

Graduates can work as child care specialists or administrators in a variety of public and private institutions, including:

  • Child Homes, Child Home Sites, and Child Support Centers affiliated with the Ministry of Family and Social Services,
  • Child Protection First Response Units,
  • Various public and private social service organizations,
  • Healthcare institutions,
  • Public and private special education centers,
  • Non-governmental organizations (NGOs),
  • Centers for street children or refugee children’s facilities under state protection,
  • International organizations,
  • And in diverse social work–related projects within the public and private sectors.


Transfer Opportunities to Bachelor’s Degree Programs

Graduates who obtain a sufficient score on the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) administered by ÖSYM are eligible to transfer to the following undergraduate programs:

  • Child Development
  • Preschool Teaching
  • Special Education Teaching
  • Health Management
  • Social Work
