2nd Pole Science Workshop

A national science program is an indispensable requirement for scientific work in the Antarctic and Arctic regions to serve our national interests, to be accepted and sustainable in the international scientific community. In this scope, hosted by Istanbul Technical University, the Polar Science Workshop was held on 12-13 April 2017with the participation of 120 Turkish scientists from 36 institutes and the first National Polar Science Program. It was also published and put into practice by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

Polar Science Workshop which scientists wanting to work on the Polar Researches in the coming years can get a common ground will be held in Istanbul from 12 - 13 September 2018 under the responsibility of TR Ministry of Industry and Technology in cooperation with ITU Polar Researches Center. 

The workshop will be open to participation of all scientists wishing to take part in national studies and participation will be free. Researchers who wish to participate in the workshop may register at http://veti.itu.edu.tr/form/kutup/2-ulusal-kutup-bilimleri-calistayi by 05 September 2018. Participants who wish to make presentations at the workshop may submit summary notices and summary uploads by 31 August 2018 with the form at http://veti.itu.edu.tr/form/kutup/2-ulusal-kutup-bilimleri-calistayi-ozet-gordim.

In addition, workshops within the scope of Turkey's Antarctic peninsula as partners where in cooperation with the Special Task Group countries (Spain, Korea, Poland, Chile) to ensure the participation of the Antarctic Institute and co-participation will be a panel discussion.
