Fuat Uçar, the General Secretary of World Union of Ahıska Turks visited our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Evkuran, the Head of Social Sciences Institute, Şerafettin Ahıskalı, İbrahim Ahıskalı, Lawyer Ali Beyaz and İhya Çataldağ also attended the meeting.
Fuat Uçar, the General Secretary of World Union of Ahıska Turks presented Chairman Ziyatdin Kassanov’s kindest regards and thanks for the studies regarding Ahıska Turks. Emphasizing that they would like to carry out mutual studies, Mr. Uçar stated that the repercussions of the symposium on Ahıska Turks organized by our university are still being felt thus creating a favorable impression for Çorum and Hitit University.
During the meeting, such issues as graduate and postgraduate cooperations of Ahıska Turks living in countries except our country, forming Ahıska Association, the substructure and procedural needs of the association are negotiated.
Expressing his gratitude for the visit of Fuat Uçar, our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan stated that we have a growing number of foreign students and promotional activities, collaboration studies and international events organized have contributed a lot to this number.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan said that we would be glad to see Ahıska youth in our university as students and we have the sufficient substructure and academic environment for them. Stating that such visits will contribute to the understanding and excitement necessary for student and academic staff exchange, our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan said that international success will be achieved through the cooperation between university and civil society organizations
