Prof. Dr. Kemal Tamer, Head of Turkish University Sports Federation and accompanying committee who came to our university to attend the first “International University Sports Day” organized in cooperation with Turkish University Sports Federation and our University visited our Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan.
During the visit, 2016 World University Wrestling Championship (WUC 2016) to be held in 25-30 October 2016 and European Universities Futsal Championship (Futsal’2017) to be organized in 2017 were discussed.
Rector Prof. Dr. Reha Metin Alkan stated that 2016 World University Wrestling Championship would be hosted by our university as a result of great efforts and hosting such an international event to be attended by hundreds of athletes was of great importance for our city.
Emphasizing that we endeavor to carry out that event successfully, Rector Prof. Dr. Alkan expressed his belief that similar international events would be coordinated by our university in our city and thanked to Çorum MP and TGNA Administrator Salim Uslu, Çorum Governor Necmeddin Kılıç and Head of Turkish University Sports Federation Prof. Dr. Kemal Tamer and those who contributed.
Prof. Dr. Kemal Tamer, Head of Turkish University Sports Federation thanked Rector Prof. Dr. Alkan for carrying out organizations successfully so far and stated that he believed that 2016 World University Wrestling Championship would also be conducted successfully by our university emphasizing they were ready for supporting our university.
