Vision
The Department of Physical Education and Sport at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, Hitit University, adopts a sports education approach based on scientific principles, aligned with Atatürk’s principles and reforms, and open to universal values by following contemporary knowledge, technology, and innovations.
The department aims to educate individuals who are competitive at both national and international levels—inquiring, innovative, and socially responsible.
In this direction, the department envisions becoming an academic unit that is recognized regionally, nationally, and globally for its high scientific productivity, adherence to ethical values, and leadership in sports education and science through its teaching and research activities.
Mission
The mission of the Department of Physical Education and Sport at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, Hitit University, is to educate qualified teachers, sport scientists, and researchers in the field of physical education and sports within the framework of its responsibility to produce, disseminate, and apply scientific knowledge for the benefit of society.
The department aims to raise individuals who are inquisitive, open to innovation, respectful of ethical values and human rights, and who contribute to universal values while preserving national culture. In this context, it seeks to equip students with skills in scientific thinking, leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving—cultivating professionals who contribute to the nation’s education, sport, and health policies and guide societal development.
All departmental activities are carried out in full alignment with Hitit University’s policies on research and development, education, institutional governance, community service, and internationalization, following the principles of continuous improvement, quality assurance, and stakeholder participation.
