The Department of Finance and Banking, established within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, aims to educate students in accordance with the evolving demands of the contemporary financial sector. As developments in information technologies and related fields continue to reshape both business and daily life, the scope and significance of banks and financial institutions have expanded considerably. In response to this transformation, the department seeks to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required by an increasingly dynamic financial environment.
The curriculum of the Department of Finance and Banking is designed to provide students with a strong theoretical and analytical foundation in key areas such as mathematics, statistics, basic law, money, banking and credit, finance, computer-based financial analysis, investment, project valuation, international finance, risk management, and financial instruments and institutions. Through this multidisciplinary structure, students are expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the financial system and its practical implications.
The language of instruction in the department is Turkish. In addition to courses offered in Turkish, selected courses may also be delivered in English where deemed appropriate by the department. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Banking.
The Department of Finance and Banking aims to educate qualified individuals who are able to adapt quickly and effectively to the changing conditions of modern business life; who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical competence in areas such as banking, financial consultancy, financial intermediation, investment, project management, and financial management; and who are well positioned to obtain the licenses and professional certifications required to work at both national and international levels.
The department also seeks to cultivate individuals who closely follow current developments in the field through seminars, conferences, and training activities conducted by finance professionals; who are capable of providing consultancy to relevant public and private institutions with their knowledge and experience; and who possess the foreign language proficiency necessary to monitor international developments and establish sustainable professional relationships in the global financial environment.
In addition, the program aims to graduate individuals who demonstrate innovative thinking in various areas of finance, including financial markets, financial techniques, derivative products, banking transactions and products, financial risk management, and corporate finance; who are able to evaluate events from a holistic perspective; who can think analytically, creatively, and flexibly in solving problems; and who uphold high ethical standards, social responsibility, environmental awareness, teamwork, and strong communication skills supported by practical experience.
In line with these objectives, the Department of Finance and Banking aspires to maintain high academic standards as one of the limited number of undergraduate programs in Türkiye offering education in this field. It aims to equip students with the theoretical knowledge, applied skills, ethical awareness, and initiative required by the business world, while preparing them for life through a broad and globally oriented educational perspective. The department places importance not only on scientific development but also on educational approaches that strengthen analytical thinking, personal competencies, and student motivation, while embracing the shared values of humanity.
Ultimately, the department aims to become a leading and widely preferred academic unit at both national and international levels, where future theoreticians and practitioners in the field of finance and banking are educated.

These opportunities include careers in banking, participation banking, public financial institutions, private financial institutions, consulting firms, factoring and forfaiting companies, leasing companies, insurance and reinsurance companies, securities brokerage firms, international audit firms, finance departments of corporations, credit analysis units, small and medium-sized enterprises, regulatory and supervisory institutions such as the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency and the Capital Markets Board, Borsa İstanbul and Takasbank, the Ministry of Finance, the Court of Accounts, local governments, media organizations, and inspector or assistant inspector positions in various institutions.
